X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems. Detecting issues with x-rays before they become problematic can save you money in the long run. At Sylvan Heights Dental, we use digital x-rays, which have several advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5th the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.
Large on-screen x-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.
3D cone beam scanning is essentially an imaging method that helps us create clear, in-depth pictures of a patient’s teeth, jawbone, and surrounding soft tissues.
CEREC 3D Scans and Milling
We work with a state-of-the-art dental laboratory, they scan all impressions, mill them out to fit perfectly and create a life-like resemblance to a natural tooth.
fastmill.io™ In-Office Mill
The fastmill.io™ In-Office Mill is the only chairside milling unit capable of producing BruxZir® NOW crowns — as well as a full range of restorative materials for every indication. The power behind the fastmill.io eliminates the need for an oven wait, meaning you can deliver crowns straight from the mill, reducing appointment times and increasing your productivity.
Intra-Oral Camera
An intra-oral camera is a small, toothbrush shaped/sized camera. The video taken with it is projected onto a monitor that we adjust so you may view the feed. We frequently use inter-oral cameras to show patients issues that have arisen within their mouth, since it is not easy to view much of your own mouth using a mirror. With the camera we are able to show you in high detail what is going on in your mouth.
Digital Scanner
We use a cutting-edge digital scanner for taking impressions. This can be used for impressions for crown/bridge/implant work, smile design, fabrication of clear aligners, monitoring gum recession, and tooth wear over time. With this advanced technology we do not require any kind of goop to fabricate these impressions, in most cases, and it makes the process much easier and more enjoyable.
